Gerald Hill

Gerald Hill has had a career in state government, higher education systems, and health care systems for the State of Texas.  He has served in leadership positions in community and state organizations in for over forty years.  Since December 2014, Gerald has been part of Civic Interest, a partnership of experienced professionals from Business, the Public Sector, Higher Education, and Non-Profit Management providing consultant services and working together to make a difference in the civic life of our communities. 

Gerald began his service in the Texas Legislature, serving in the House of Representatives for multiple terms, and was named as one of Texas Monthly’s Ten Best Legislators.  He then was appointed as Executive Assistant to Governor Mark White.  Gerald served as Vice Chancellor of Government Relations for the University of Texas Systems for several years, later going back to his Alma Mater, Texas State University, to serve as Executive Director, Texas State Development Foundation, and as Vice President for University Advancement.  ­­­­­

Gerald’s work in the health care industry began with his ten years with the Seton Family of Hospitals, where he served in multiple executive level positions, including Interim President of Seton Foundations, and Senior Vice President of Advocacy and Communications for the Seton Family of Hospitals.  He also served as President of the Austin Area Research Organization and was a member of the Greater Austin Economic Development Board. Mr. Hill is a graduate and Distinguished Alumnus of Texas State University-San Marcos.
