Christy Carpenter is a lawyer, civic leader, non-profit expert, and entrepreneur who has held high level CFO and CEO positions with leading public entities around the country. Christy served as CFO of the Paley Center for Media in New York City, the country’s premier institution dedicated to advancing the understanding of media and its role in business, art, and social / cultural impact, for public and media professionals. At Paley, Christy repositioned the organization, dramatically raising its profile, while managing NYC and LA teams of senior executives, 85 employees, and an annual $17 million dollar budget. Prior to Paley, Christy served as CEO of the Winthrop Rockefeller Institute, where she reshaped WRI's identity and market branding, achieving unprecedented levels of visibility and philanthropy for WRI. Christy has served as Vice Chair of the Board of Directors of the National Public Broadcasting Corporation and on the Board for KCET Television (LA’s largest public television station). Christy currently serves on the KLRU-TV Board of Directors and the Annette Strauss Institute for Civic Life at the University of Texas in Austin.
